And there was. But it was not so good....

We're heading out the door to Anaheim! Yup, 5 solid hours of funner than fun driving to CHA today, although boating might be more appropriate at this point...

Wish us luck!

I'll post pics as often as I can!

L is for I LOVE making kits.

Here are some little Valentine's Day treat boxes and cards I made using Pink Paislee's Cupid collection. It just so happens that the Scrapbook Nook is featuring this collection in this month's kit - and oooooh baby is it a good one!

These cards and boxes are now available in their own kit, with complete instructions to get you on your way to Valentine's Day bliss! They are being sold now at Scrapper's Depot in Napa, California for $20. If one of you readers would like a kit, just let me know and I'll ship one right out to you! Hurry hurry - they're going fast!

Don't panic - you still have time!

That's right- Pam has extended the deadline for our 20.10 deal at My Scrapbook Nook. You now have through Monday the 18th to sign up and get that special deal.

Simply use the code 6MO at checkout when you sign up for 6 months in the kit club and you'll get a $20.10 credit in the Nook store to buy whatever you'd like.

Isn't that a great deal?!

Also, we'll be contacting the blog hop winners next week, so make sure and check the Nook forum!

Random is Good!

Life is good. Life with the DF is even better. And no Grammy, I am not referring to the Dumb Fu$k. I am talking about my Dearest most Darling Fiancee. Randomly he went to the store and came back with roses. This almost never happens. I mean, I always get flowers on special occasions. And not just one boquet - he usually gets me three, and hides them throughout the house. Yes, ladies, he can be a doll. He can also be a royal pain in the ass more often than not. But sometimes... well, sometimes he is just a doll. It helps, I suppose, that he has guilt about going out of town in search of car parts tomorrow. Whatever, I'm not complaining! My studio smells delish, I get to be crafty aaaaallllll day tomorrow, and I can crank up the heat to temperatures that would otherwise cook the poor guy.

Yes, life is good!

So, Herman (the rock I've been living under) just up'd and walked away today, leaving me to discover the wonders of Pioneer Woman. Yeah, I know - where have I been? Well, under Herman, like I said. Anyway, I've been practicing tonight a little bit and I am having sooo much fun! Love the little actions I used on my photo up there, and the possibilities are endless!

In other news, I just thought I'd remind you (both of you) to check back here on Tuesday to see if you've won that amazing kit I'm giving away from The Scrapbook Nook!! I'll be randomly drawing a winner first thing Tuesday morning, so be sure to poke your head in here to see if you're the lucky lady!

Have a great weekend!

Scrapbook Nook Blog Hoppiness!!

Welcome to the Scrapbook Nook Design Team's blog hop! If you're landing here by coincidence, I must say, you should definitely start this hop at the very beginning - a very good place to start. Hop on over to Leah Killian's blog, Life As Lou, and I'll see you soon!

Well, I hope you're enjoying the hop so far!! How about Lynn's little goodies?! She has so many fun things to peek at! Prepare yourself, because this is the
blog that never ends.....yes it goes on and on my friends...some people started reading in not knowing what it was, and they'll continue reading it forever just because this is the blog that never ends.....(admit it, you know this song.)

Anyway, I'm glad you found your way here - there's lot
s to talk about and I guess I should start with a little bit about me.

My name is Brittny Lejeune (yes, it's spelled that way) and I live in Vacaville, California. I'm a recent transplant from San Luis Obispo, California (and I miss it like crazy) where I got my bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, worked as a graphic designer, and met my soon-to-be ball and chain...ehem... I mean the love of my life, Eric. After I graduated I was introduced to a lovely little economy where jobs for Landscape Architects don't exist and as a result I am now officially a stay-at-home fiance pursuing my love of scrapbooking.

I co-own a small scrapbooking studio in Fresno, California with my mom, Sarah, where I have been teaching classes and hosting small crops for the last couple of years. I consider myself to be a connoisseur of smut novels and chocolate and look forward to the day when I have a house full of kids to keep me from enjoying both.

Recently I've begun working with a repping firm in Northern California - MILLSREPCO - and am having the time of my life! How many people get to say, "Oh, I'm sorry - I'd love to meet you for brunch, but I have a conference call this morning with 7 Gypsies." Yeah, life is good!

I am so honored and excited to be on the Nook's design team. You won't find a more talented group anywhere! I have had an amazing term so far and I hope I can stay around forever!

Aside from the amazing ideas and classes form the Design Team, our rockin’ gallery and friendly Message Board- Membership has it’s perks! We want our members to have access to the hottest scrap supplies in the industry, so each month (starting w/ the February kit) we will feature a bonus product line- AT 40% OFF. This great deal will be exclusive- for members ONLY. February’s deep discount will be the new Basic Grey “Sugar Rush” collection which should be popping up in our Kit Add On section SOON- so keep those eyes peeled!

As you may know, we are all giving away one of the Nook's fabulous kits this week to one lucky ducky. If you want to win this one you'd better get busy!!

January has blown in with extra charm and sweetness to chase away those nippy winter days! In a cheerful palette featuring Pink Paislee papers and chipboard and sparkles galore you will be tickled pink by this lovely kit! Scrap the darling in your life, make a lovely Valentine, create a keepsake journal or craft some fetching cards.

This kit includes: 12 double-sided Pink Paislee Cupid papers

1 Set of Maya Road Kraft envelopes
1 Box 'o Sparkles from Making Memories
1 Yard of brown velvet trim from American Crafts
1 Yard of lovely lace trim from Prima
2 Making Memories Heart Pins
1 Set of Bracket chipboard from Scenic Route
1 Set of Butterfly chipboard from Scenic Route
1 Complete alphabet from Pink Paislee
1 Set of Pink Paislee Brads
1 Set of Maya Road chipboard tickets

So, are you thoroughly wowed and excited and salivating for this kit yet? I sure am, and I've had TONS of fun working with it!

Here's a layout I did using the kit. Yup, don't adjust your screen folks, that is in fact Maggie, Leah's little girl you're looking at. I gotta say, not having your own set of cute little doe-eyed googly-face cherubs is really detrimental to one's scrappyness.

Here's another little project I made, perfect for holding all of those darling Valentine's you'll be getting from your lovey doveys this year! I used the Scenic Route chipboard butterflies to make this little holder - just glue on some paper, sand the edges and attach a mini clothes pin to the back of each one!

Okay now, to win this amazing kit you must perform some very small tasks. First, you will get 1 entry for leaving a comment here telling me how much you deserve this fabo kit. You can get another entry by registering over at the Message Board, another for signing up for the newsletter, yet another for posting about the hop on your blog, and finally, if you join the club today, you will get a wopping 5 entries! Also, when you sign up right now for the kit you'll be able to take advantage of an another amazing promotion - you'll get $20.10 to spend in the store! What an awesome way to ring in the new year - get the kit AND a ton of goodies at the Nook!

So, you have a total of 9 possible entries here on my blog. If you leave comments on the other memebers blogs you'll have even more possibilities! In order to make sure you get credit for completing these tasks, just leave me a comment for each entry point you've earned. Each entry will be assigned a number, and will be chosen by a random number generator.

Good luck everybody!

The blog hop will close on Friday Jan 15th at midnight PST and we'll announce the winners on the forum on Monday, January 18.

Thanks for joining in the blog hop today - I hope you're having as much fun as I am! Now scat!! Just kidding - but really, now it's time for you to skip on over to Daniela's blog For the First Time and take a look at some of her amazing projects!

A quickie...

Hiya!

Just a quick note to let you know that AAM is hosting another challenge today! Hop on over to check it out and all of the awesome layouts the rest of the DT and GDTers have done.

Here's my layout:

I'm not usually a digi girl, but after I finished my layout, I just thought it needed a little oomph, so I put in photoshop, added some distressing, and the date and voila! Fun times.

Check back Friday for an actual post of substance. You won't be sorry...

Lots of things!

Hi everybody!

I have been a little MIA lately - sorry! With the craziness of Christmas, DT deadlines, a new job, and (sadly) a death in the family, I've been running around like a crazy woman. God help me when there are kids to chase after...

Anyway, I hope everybody had a very Merry Christmas!! Did you get some fun stuff? Did you see some loved peeps? I did! We had a pretty hectic few days, driving all over creation, but we really had a great time seeing everybody and eating. Oh, the eating... I'm still full of ham and potatoes... And the chocolate? I don't even want to think about the amount of chocolate I consumed...

I have a few little bits of news for you for this post-Christmassy post:

#1) The Scrapbook Nook is having its Design Team call! It's going to be very sad to see some people go, but very exciting to see who all the new folks will be! If you think you've got what it takes, well then head on over to the Nook's message board, and check it out!

Here's the January kit - I'm in LOVE!

#2) If you're going to be at CHA this January, give me a jingle! I'll be there Saturday - Wednesday and it would be amazing to meet some of you lovely cyber people in real life!! I can't wait to see what everybody has in store for us this season!

#3) I'm working on putting together some mini-book kits for Scrapper's Depot in Napa! It's a fun one - packed full of fun stuff! If you're gonna be in the area this month, you'll definitely have to check it out! Class dates to follow!

So what's your guilty pleasure?

That's what's on the table for you over at the All About Me Challenge Blog today!

For me, the entire Christmas Season is my guilty pleasure - I'm one of those mushy people who get teary-eyed at the melting snowman commercials. I bake incessantly, and I crave the smell of cinnamon pine cones every time I walk through the door of Jo-Ann's. I love it all!

Here's my layout:

So now check out the rest of the layouts the Design Team made over at the AAM Blog! And let's see what you come up with!!

The drummers they are a-drummin'!

Today is day twelve of Scrapbook News & Review's 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!

This season has been full of some great releases, including Cosmo Cricket's Jolly By Golly, Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses, Collage Press's Joy Ride, October Afternoon's Very Merry, Making Memories' Mistletoe, Bella Blvd.'s December Details, Kaiser Craft's Christmas Spirit and 3 Bugs in a Rug's Let It Snow.

SO MUCH FUN STUFF!!

I've had the chance to play with a few of these lines lately, and here's some of the projects I made:
Christmas Tag: Making Memories Paper, Prima Alpha Stickers.
Directions: Make an accordion circle out of a strip of decorative paper, cut out a round tag to sit on top, and use stickers to say 'You' then tie a knot in some twine and glue it to the back side of the tag. Punch a circle out of another patterned paper for the back of the tag for reinforcement.

My Miracle: Making Memories papers, Prima Alpha stickers adn newsprint flower.

For directions on how to make this layout, visit The Scrapbook Nook's message board!

I hope you all have had lots of fun with Scrapbook News & Review's 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop! Merry Christmas, everyone!
